Blender vs Other 3D Animation Software
To me Blender stand up very well to other 3D software. People say that the interface is difficult to work with but compared to others like 3D studio that is menu based it is actually much faster to work in.
One thing to remember is that Blenders strong point is the fact that it is shortcut based.

I don't Know blender. I work in 3DS Max. Can it give results like 3DS Max? Do blender have features like reactors, character studio and modifier based other facilities? Do it give flexibility in animation like Max?

You will be suprized what Blender can do. Blender features List. Basically it actually can do some things 3D Studio max can't do. Like Nodes where you will need a program like after effects for. Blender even got a games engin. But see for your self.

If i may add to what you're saying Willem; you can still import and export models between blender and 3DS Max enabling you to use the best features of both animation programs. I personally prefer Blender because it is free and users of freeware programs are more prone to sharing content and tutorials. I've learnt blender through hundreds of tutorials I used to finish projects. Results in blender are the same as in 3DS Max, the quality of the results depend on the animator's skill.

In a since it is true what you say that the end result depends on the animators skill. But the true quality of the end product really comes out when you use and external renderer like Yafray (Blender uses this) V Ray, Mental Ray, (Used by Max), and then Render Man, (Which is a multi platform based renderer). You can even use Render Man with Blender.
The Program with the best Internal renderer to me is Vue. I'm sure you've seen avatar. Your scenes can have up to 50 Billion polygons.
Most companies you applying for work at, requires that you know 3D Studio Max or Maya or other program. They must remember that the 3D package is just the tool.
The fact is that Blender is regarded as one of the mainstream packages today.
I'm not shooting any package down. People are sometimes very fast to uplift their package they're using and say it is better than the others. Rather say I do not know the others.
However there is simple thing you can compare different packages.
Just look at the feature list.
Anyway hope this gives you something to think about.
